Team Rare JDM attends numerous track and show events, both locally and out of state. All vehicles are driven to the event with sponsor and team decals prominently displayed, and are never trailered. Team Rare JDM is divided into 2 distinct groups – the “Show Team” and the “Race Team”. While some cars may be in both categories, sponsorship can be limited to either group, or can cover the entire team. While some of the team vehicles are track cars and some are show cars, it is important to note that all team vehicles are driven on a daily basis.

So what are the requirements? Both the show and race teams are limited to Japanese automobiles. Unfortunately this means no Euro or Domestic vehicles will be allowed to join either team. For the show team we expect you to come out to shows, and for the race team the car must be tracked (autocross, road coarse, drift, drag, etc…). Both teams will have no registration fees, no meetings, and no drama. We’re setting this up so we can show/race together and have a good time.

Show Team
The show team is newly formed, and attended its first show (WekFest 2009) on February 8th, 2009 in San Francisco. The SoCal members drove up to the event, and all told the team left with 8 awards. By attending show events, Team Rare JDM reaches thousands of tuning enthusiasts. These events have resulted in a large web presence, as well as a handful of magazine/online articles mentioning the company and featuring our team vehicles. The shows have been a successful way for us to display parts, answer questions, and connect with the customer on a personal level.

Race Team
Team Rare JDM currently has three cars that we race, with two more being built. The cars give us a chance to try out and demo new parts at track events and auto shows. Current team drivers are: Isaac Campos, Gabriel Estrada, Paul Lu, Taylor Tscharanyan, and Zack Tscharanyan. The Team Rare JDM track vehicles draw quite a crowd at every event. While the Nissan 350z is well-suited for and commonly seen at the track, the Infiniti G35 is a fairly uncommon track car. This and the fact that we upkeep our track cars to keep them show-ready, plus our excellent performance on the track, has resulted in Team Rare JDM gaining plenty of attention at every event we attend.
